This weekend my loving, handy, and talented husband Wade, undertook the large task of creating a waldorf playstand for the children in dayhome. He has always supported my endeavors and dayhome has been no exception... we secretly call Wade "Santa Daddy" because one of his favorite things to do is create wooden toys... Many of you know that i have made a commitment to myself and to my program to fold natural materials into every center at dayhome .... Boy ! is this an amazing structure to have. Some of the waldorf play materials really appeal to me, being that they are primarily natural materials and can be created by hand. This amazing structure will provide hours of child led play for many years to come. My husband is a carpenter's son, and a carpenter at heart. Here is the lovely structure and pictures of the 2 finished play centers that the children will walk into on Monday morning... we are soooo excited to see their reactions! What an amazingly warm and cozy place to play..... my gratitude is not measurable right now.... i am over the moon...

Wow, you are so lucky that your husband is so talented! I've seen those on blogs before, but I think they were bought at the store, I've never heard of anyone making one before! And I love the corner centre with the lights. I've been thinking of making one for the kids, but it never occured to me to put lights there. What a beautiful addition!
